Job Summary:

As our Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing our company payroll cycles from start to finish, ensuring the timely and accurate payment of all wages to our team members, in compliance with all local, state and federal labor laws. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to work professionally and collegially with employees, management, and other stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes multi-state payrolls on weekly and bimonthly payroll cycles for 800+ employees, with the assistance of our payroll service provider. Generate off-cycle payroll checks when required.
  • Ensures timely and accurate calculation and processing of payroll transactions including wages, salaries, bonuses, commissions and leave.
  • Maintains and updates employee payroll data including new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, direct deposit information and deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and taxes.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies and answers employee payroll-related questions.
  • Ensures compliance with company payroll policies and procedures.
  • Stays up to date with payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment legislation.
  • Partners with the Human Resource Department on benefits and payroll related issues.
  • Works closely with Finance department team members to ensure payroll expenses are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and recommends solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepares and distributes payroll reports and documents to management, employees, auditors and other stakeholders as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Three years of end-to-end payroll processing experience.
  • Paylocity software experience required.
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software, Microsoft Office and internet-based software platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. High degree of professionalism.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
