About the Team/Role
We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Modern Benefits Platform team. In this role, you will help design and build modern APIs, backend services, and data pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes to support mission-critical capabilities to modernize our product platform. As a member of an agile and collaborative team, you’ll contribute to building secure, scalable systems using C#, Kafka, and cloud-native services. You’ll help modernize legacy components and integrate data across systems using event-driven architecture, JSON APIs, and CDC patterns. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer looking to grow their full-stack skills and contribute to large-scale, impactful projects.
How you’ll make an impact
● Develop and maintain backend services and micro service APIs with a focus on reliability and scalability.
● Build and support data pipelines using event-streaming platforms like Kafka.
● Write clean, maintainable code in C# (.NET).
● Collaborate with engineers, product managers to understand requirements and deliver value incrementally.
● Work on integrations using JSON, RESTful APIs, and messaging systems.
● Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
● Support production systems and assist in resolving technical issues when needed.
Experience you’ll bring
● BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (or can demonstrate strong practical ability in lieu of
a degree)
● Good hands-on experience developing applications or microservices using C# (.NET) and/or Kafka
● Good experience building and consuming REST APIs
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
● Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
● Proficiency in C#, Java, or another modern backend language.
● Familiarity with Kafka, message queues, or event-driven design.
● Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and basic SQL skills.
● Understanding of JSON and data exchange formats.
● Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
● Exposure to CI/CD tools and source control (Git or similar).
● Comfort working in an agile development environment.
● Passionate about learning and staying current with new technologies, willing to find the right solution for use-cases.
● Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
● Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Plus
● Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) concepts and tools.
● Familiarity with enterprise tools like JIRA and Confluence.
● Experience modernizing and upgrading older .NET applications.
