ABOUT THE ROLE  

The Management Accountant will assist the Senior Reporting Manager working across the full services media agencies. Core areas of responsibility will be preparing and reviewing the month end management accounts.  The role is based in London and will be closely supported by the Senior Reporting Manager. The Management Accountant will have the support of the Finance Assistant. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Reporting and financial compliance: 

  • Prepare and review the monthly management accounts in accordance with US GAAP including revenue, journals, accruals and prepayments. 
  • ETC calculations and bonus assessments. 
  • Maintain out of scope projects tracker. 
  • Review month end variance analysis for revenue and P&L. 
  • Monthly reconciliation of salaries. 
  • Review and reconciliation of intercompany recharges.  
  • Maintain and develop monitoring controls to minimise the risk of fraud to the company and to meet all SOX reporting requirements.  
  • Review of general ledger coding of invoices and POs in SAP for all office costs incurred. 
  • Reviewing personal and company credit card expenses.  
  • Work with biller to ensure timely and accurate invoicing of fees.  
  • Responding to frequent queries from senior management, controllers, non-finance employees and auditors 

ABOUT YOU 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and well organised candidate with strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be personable and ambitious with an interest in the digital technology sector. Desired skills and experience are as follows:  

Technical skills: 

  • Strong academic record 
  • Relevant degree / Studying towards ACCA or CIMA  
  • Excellent excel knowledge – very familiar and comfortable with pivot tables and standard formulas such as VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, IF, AND, OR statements etc  
  • Systems : SAP / Hyperion/ DDS knowledge would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks  
  • Prior experience of preparing end to end management accounts and transaction processing. 
  • Capable of working within a dynamic environment in which the work flow is often unpredictable and requires a pragmatic approach, particularly during key busy periods (e.g. quarter end, year end)  

Soft skills & Aptitudes: 

  • Numerate with a strong attention to detail 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Excellent communications skills - both spoken and written  
  • Able to respond quickly to ad-hoc requests and prioritise accordingly  
  • Proactive team player willing to be flexible,  
  • Proficient in completing accurate and high volume of work to strict deadlines 
  • Committed to developing a long term career within the international media and technology sector
