Job Summary

The Security Superintendent plays a key leadership role in the successful delivery of commercial security integration projects. This dynamic, field-based position requires strong communication skills and the ability to lead and support field personnel while collaborating effectively with project managers and operational leadership. The role involves managing day-to-day field operations, driving team productivity, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals. Success in this role depends on the ability to maintain efficiency in the field, support project financial objectives, and build strong working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Scope & Drawing Review: Scrub bids, RFPs, specs, and drawings to verify accurate equipment orders and field-verify installation conditions.
  • Door Hardware & System Verification: Confirm door hardware schedules for functionality and proper product application.
  • RFI & Change Management: Develop and track RFI questions based on scope gaps and oversee updates/redlines to drawings for as-builts.
  • Construction & Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager to review critical path milestones and build accurate delivery schedules.
  • Field Verification & Change Orders: Support the PM by verifying site conditions that impact scope changes and assist with related documentation.
  • QA/QC & Inspections: Conduct spot checks, head-end and IDF inspections, and ensure work aligns with QA/QC standards and project deadlines.
  • Field Staff Development: Mentor field technicians through technical training and soft skills coaching to build team capability.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Deliver weekly field reports to the PM and maintain accurate project documentation throughout.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Attend project and subcontractor meetings, maintain relationships with GCs, ECs, trade partners, and end users.
  • System Expertise & Troubleshooting: Possess deep knowledge of security systems (e.g., Genetec, S2, Software House, Avigilon, etc.), network infrastructure, and advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience in commercial security integration, with progressive responsibility in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and system networking.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, door hardware schedules, and technical specifications.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional manufacturer certifications (e.g., Genetec, Software House, Avigilon) are a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and team leadership skills with experience managing subcontractors, trade partners, and customer relationships.

Pay Rate

$38.00 - $55.00/hour
