The consultant will be expected to be competent and experienced in broad aspects of radiology to a level for safe, independent consultant practice, including DEXA, plain film radiography, fluoroscopic procedures, ultrasound, CT and MRI, including procedural skills in general radiology.
Actively promote and medical imaging and SVPR to external private referrers
Communicate urgent or unexpected results or significant results directly to the responsible consultant by whatever appropriate means.
Participation in the on call and weekend roster.
Lead and support clinical meetings, discrepancy meetings, journal club, registrar educational meetings
Provide formal teaching and supervision to radiology interns, registrars and fellows
Actively participates in and drives quality improvement activities of the department.
Participate in established research projects and initiate research projects in areas of own interest and/or expertise
Satisfactory attendance at required work and modality areas
Satisfactory reporting and procedural services
Working knowledge of all relevant protocols within the Medical Imaging
Attendance and leadership of clinical and educational meetings
Satisfactory completion of mandatory training, registration and CPD requirements
General radiology is mandatory with subspecialty expertise being desirable.
Broad range of MR knowledge and experience to a level for independent consultant practice, magnet supervision, protocol development and clinical service growth is also expected.
Classifications for this position will range from HN19 - HN59 dependent on Level of Experience + an additional over award of $100-$125 per hour.
Medical Degree from a medical school recognized in Victoria
RANZCR or RACP Fellowship
Registration with AHPRA
Good standing with own Medical Defence Organisation
Radiation Use Licence
Competence with general MRI
Competence in general radiology diagnostic and procedural skills
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
