Area Sales Coordinator
Location: Charleston, SC (On-site) Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview, Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Waterfront, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charleston Riverview

Compensation: $21–$23 per hour, based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time | In-office

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Area Sales Coordinator to support sales initiatives across three of our Charleston Marriott properties. This role plays a key part in driving revenue and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.

Job Purpose
The Area Sales Coordinator will work closely with the Sales Managers to support group and transient sales efforts. This role is responsible for coordinating activities that help drive business to the hotels, developing relationships with corporate and travel partners, and ensuring efficient execution of sales operations and client communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support all transient and group sales activities across assigned properties.

  • Assist in developing and executing action plans to attract and retain business.

  • Manage communication and coordination with existing accounts, including corporate, travel agents, and consortia partners.

  • Conduct property site visits and tours; attend client and third-party events to build relationships and generate leads.

  • Prepare tailored proposals and presentations for group programs and individual accounts.

  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities using internal and external resources.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date files for all corporate and group accounts.

  • Represent the hotels at community events, networking functions, and client meetings as needed.

  • Compose clear, professional correspondence and sales materials.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and excellent customer service at all times.

  • Participate in sales meetings, strategy sessions, and marketing activities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hotel sales, hospitality, or administrative support preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or hotel sales systems (Marriott systems a plus).

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
