Are you passionate about engineering and eager to make a difference in the world of subway infrastructure? This could be the role for you if you are an Engineer with structural maintenance experience that loves the balance of office and field work? 

What You Will Do

 

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Engineering Services, you will play a crucial role in designing, procuring, and constructing rehabilitation projects for subway-related structures. Your work will ensure these structures meet TTC and industry standards, as well as maintainability requirements, all while being cost-effective.

 

You will develop and review designs, specifications, contract documents, technical reports, and standards. Along with assisting with all aspects of the budgeting and approval process.

 

A large portion of your work will be directing and coordinating internal work force, consultants and contractors involved in structure inspections or rehabilitation work which encompasses quality control of the work performed.

 

Additionally, you will assisting in maintenance of the Structure Maintenance Asset Management Plan and the enterprise asset management software (e.g., MAXIMO).We are looking for someone who is dedicated, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to the success of our projects.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

 

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is required.
  • Your education includes a University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering along with several years of structural maintenance/design experience
  • You bring in-depth knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles to a dynamic and impactful role
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate about the structural design, maintenance, and rehabilitation of bridge
  • You have a strong understanding of regulatory guidelines, including the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual and National Bridge Design Standards.
  • You will need to demonstrate sound judgment, well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal communication and technical report writing skills.
  • You are able to effectively coordinate the efforts of others to achieve objectives, preparing structural designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • You are familiar with budgeting procedures and practices.
  • Ability to apply your good knowledge of computers and computerized applications related to the work.
