Sr. Business Intelligence Platform Manager

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Platform Manager to take full ownership of our enterprise Domo environment, ensuring optimal data architecture, governance, and performance efficiency.  

This role extends beyond traditional platform administration, requiring deep expertise in data engineering, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, and governance framework implementation. T In this role, you’ll lead the re-platforming of data assets, optimize dataflows for scalability and efficiency, and establish robust governance protocols that align with enterprise objectives. Additionally, this position will play a critical role in evolving BI governance methodologies, ensuring a sustainable and scalable BI ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with our overall Data strategy.  

What you’d be doing: 

Domo Platform Administration & Governance: 

• Oversee and manage the Domo environment to ensure high availability, security, and performance efficiency. 
• Lead the transition to the Domo Consumption model, optimizing platform utilization and cost efficiency. 
• Develop and enforce BI governance policies, including dataset lifecycle management and certification protocols. 
• Implement access control and security frameworks to ensure data integrity and compliance. 

Data Optimization & Performance Tuning: 

• Evaluate, refine, and reengineer dataflows to minimize latency and maximize scalability. 
• Optimize query performance and improve data pipelines to meet enterprise-wide efficiency standards. 
• Implement strategic data restructuring, such as leveraging database views instead of large static datasets. 

Asset Migration & Integration: 

• Lead the migration of legacy datasets, recalibrating dependencies and restructuring data models for better integration. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BI, Data Warehouse, and business units) to ensure seamless data consumption. 

Monitoring & Lifecycle Management: 

• Develop proactive monitoring strategies to detect inefficiencies and mitigate risks. 
• Drive the decommissioning of redundant datasets, rationalize user access, and ensure agile governance. 
• Establish a structured cadence for governance updates and stakeholder alignment. 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

• 5+ years of experience administering Domo or similar BI platforms (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Looker). 
• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries and optimizing query performance.  
• Strong expertise in BI governance, data security frameworks, and retention policies.  
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues within Domo, including: 
• Optimizing dataflows and dataset performance. 
• Improving dashboard responsiveness and troubleshooting query inefficiencies. 
• Managing data refresh bottlenecks and applying best practices (e.g., append vs. replace-all dataset creation). 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

• Domo Professional or Architect certification. 
• Experience with Python, R, or JavaScript for advanced data automation and transformation. 
• Familiarity with Domo API integrations and custom application development. 
• Knowledge of best practices in data visualization, dashboard usability, and information design.
