Qualifications:

• Master's in Nursing from an accredited nursing program

• National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the specialty of Primary Care Pediatric primary

• Current Arkansas Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure by the Arkansas Board of Nursing

• Current DEA certification or eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

• At least one year of experience as an APRN, with experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician.

• Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data.

• Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.

• Formulate and implement a treatment plan for the management of acute and chronic 
  illnesses in collaboration with the physician.

• Document in medical records appropriately. 

• Provide family-centered care to meet the child’s health care needs.

• Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.

• Participate in staff education and educate other APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows.

• Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or with team members.

• Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, by telephone, or by email as 
  appropriate.

• Communicate with others with mutual respect and a professional demeanor.

• Adhere to all standard policies and procedures.

• Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
