THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Senior UX Writer for our Product team in Portugal! 

This role is to join the Product Development team, responsible for content strategy for customer-facing products, and to leverage UX Writer practices and operations. The position will report directly to the Director of UX. 

This is a great opportunity to join a growing team in a global ecosystem. The UX Writing team plays a pivotal role in crafting the words and messages that guide users, clients, and partners through Wellhub products and services (from error messages to onboarding flows, our team designs communication solutions to guide and engage, simplifying complex concepts and championing consistency).

YOUR IMPACT

• Be the voice of UX Writing in project teams, explaining your rationale to developers, product designers, and product managers. Use creative thinking to approach problems in an innovative way, always challenging the status quo.
• Be a UX expert who can easily take on conversations about usability, accessibility, and research. You can conduct projects end-to-end, including discovery and delivery. You are that type of UX writer who knows that “writing” is only 3% of your job.
• Turn complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling copy, considering the brand’s tone and voice, readability, and layout, among other things. 
• Your work can go from headlines, body copy, calls to action, navigation labels, error messages, onboarding flows and transactional emails.
• Maintain consistency and storytelling throughout the product journey within the product.
• Consider accessibility guidelines in the copy.
• Oversee the work of other UX writers in the team and inspire them with your work, planning collaborative activities and knowledge exchange. 
• Promote UX writing as a discipline across the Wellhub organization.
• Propose best practices, frameworks, tools, and workflows to enhance the efficiency and impact of the UX Writing team.
• Support the management of the UX Team and projects, being a point of reference for the decision-making process, assessing demand,s and prioritizing your workload. Instigate projects and prioritise your own workload.
• Create a strong relationship between team OKRs and the copy strategy. Your strategic thinking helps you link long-range visions and concepts to your daily work.
• Live the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your wellbeing and your colleagues. Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life balance.

WHO YOU ARE 

You’re enthusiastic and curious about the possibilities of writing for digital products. You keep up to speed with all the latest technical and storytelling trends and you take every opportunity to put them into action in your day-to-day work.

• An excellent communicator who doesn’t need a lot of words or jargon to make a point understandable.
• You have strong management skills, and you are a point of reference within your team and within the company.
• Ability to organize and prioritize while working on multiple, simultaneous projects of varied size and complexity.
• Experience working with product requirements, user research, usability tests and driven by customer feedback.
• Solid experience in UX writing, content strategy, technical writing, or in any writing field that focuses on User Experience. Candidates with a background in marketing and advertising will be considered too.
• Ability to test with prototypes (rough drafts and sketches, paper prototypes, working prototypes) and live builds.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on tested evidence.
• Excellent communication skills are a must; you need to be able to propose copy in English and to articulate ideas clearly when speaking in English with colleagues and stakeholders (Spanish is a huge plus).
• Previous experience in writing for a global product with more than one audience is a huge plus. Ideally, you’re aware of the challenges of writing in that context.
• A portfolio with great writing for all sorts of digital experiences - websites, chatbots, apps or games - is a plus.
