Thrive Pet Healthcare is excited to add a Sr. Paralegal to our growing team!

 
Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for working under the direction of Associate General Counsel - Labor, Employment and Data Privacy (“Supervising Attorney” or “SA”) to assist with case planning, development and management, legal research, client and witness interviews, fact-gathering and information retrieval, drafting and analyzing legal documents for attorney review and collects, and utilizing technology to streamline workflows. The Senior Paralegal (“SPL”) engages in the above tasks largely independently to make recommendations to the SA.

Responsibilities:
Leading with Your Head
Understanding business, solving problems, and making decisions through inclusive contributions of others
· Draft legal documents, formal discovery requests and responses, notices, interrogatories, motions
and summaries of depositions
· Assist in the development of legal document forms and templates
· Coordinate work of other paralegals as necessary to complete long-term or large projects, such as
discovery, litigation support, record and database maintenance
· Assist with locating and contacting witnesses, arrange for witness interviews, draft witness
declarations in proceedings and pretrial statements and assist with the preparation of witness
testimony
· Compile and organize files, including but not limited to exhibits, coordinate scheduling of witnesses
and assist SA in preparation of witnesses and exhibits
· Note-taking and document management during witness interviews and administrative hearings.
· Conduct interviews and gather information relevant to prospective and pending employment
discrimination and other administrative matters
· Analyze information collected in witness interviews and document reviews to make
recommendations to SA
· Draft and review separation agreements and releases, and other settlement agreements, as may
be appropriate
· Facilitate settlement agreements within parameters established by SA
· Assist with the development of legal department processes, policies and procedures
· Assist with preparation and presentation of law-related trainings
· Apply advanced knowledge and subject matter expertise to work closely with SA and company stakeholders on high-level matters
· Perform legal research and assist with other Legal Department projects and initiatives as needed
· Identify for escalation and escalate matters and issues to SA, as appropriate

· Aptitude for learning about the Company’s business functions and the veterinary industry to better understand and support the organization
 
Key Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for
the functions and responsibilities of the position
· Completion of an approved paralegal program and a minimum of seven years of experience as a litigation paralegal or a minimum of ten years of experience as a litigation paralegal
· Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
· Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Ability to handle private, sensitive, and confidential information appropriately, acting with integrity and discretion
· Possess excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
· Ability to complete project-based work independently
