Job description

Position Details: Full Time, Permanent 
Starting Salary: $67,100 (based on a 35-hour work week and commensurate with individual education and experience, as it relates to the position).
Location: Remote or hybrid in any DUC office across Canada
Closing Deadline: July 11, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)

What You Will Do

  • Provide oversight, updates, and training with regards to Land Management systems. Ensuring compliance with business rules across DUC. 
  • Lead in the design and implementation of Land Management System improvements to ensure necessary functions for and attributes of projects/acres to ensure they are accurately accounted for and reported on to meet DUC needs. 
  • Ensure the accuracy of the acre reporting by vetting changes to rules, reconciling between the Conservation Initiatives Report (CIR) and Initiatives Report (IR) for acres, as well as reporting on acres for DUC’s Annual Report and Ducks Unlimited Incorporated (DUI) Annual Statistics in support of acres harmonization.
  • Supervise the NAWMP National Tracking System for DUC, interact with external partners with regards to the National Tracking System (NTS). Provide quarterly reports, reconciliation with DUC financial and acres reporting systems. 
  • Conduct or participate in habitat inventory and monitoring projects in coordination with the National Geographical Information System (GIS) Team such as project map viewer and ensure quality control over data being provided to the government of Canada’s federal Canadian Protected and Conserved Acre Database (CPCAD). 
  • Develop training materials to enable cross-functional teams to successfully utilize and create reporting from the Land Management System with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Play a support role for major funding planning, proposal, tracking and reporting process for the NAWMP programs (NAWCA, Fall Flights, Canadian Federal, etc), this could include development of proposals and reports, tracking accomplishments. 
  • Prepare acres working papers and ad hoc analysis to support quarterly reporting, year-end reconciliation and acres reporting to the Board of Directors. 
  • Daily supervision and administration of the Conservation Helpdesk, ensure the tickets are dealt with in a timely fashion and provide direction on Land Management tickets. 
  • Support finance leads in their calculation and allocation of funds to reserve funds relative to the assets and projects being completed.
  • Support the reporting and analysis of the reserve funds to ensure reserve fund balances are maintained and administered appropriately.
  • Be the key point of contact for internal staff questions and external contacts (e.g. auditors and consultants) to support governance over the fund and facilitate reviews and assessment of the reserve allocations/calculations and balances.  
  • Support of Manager of Provincial Operations and Senior Conservation Leadership in alignment of program/projects with Joint Venture Implementation Plan objectives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in data management, information systems, natural resource management, agricultural sciences, environmental science, ecology, GIS, or related fields.
  • 5-years’ experience in tracking obligations and data management
  • ArcGIS, Dynamics 365 (financial & CRM), PowerBi and Office365 experience a plus
  • Data driven and highly capable in Excel and other data/reporting software
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Project management experience 
  • Proficient in learning new technologies
  • Knowledge of specialized analytical methods and database management
