How you will make an impact
The Trade Assistant is responsible for assisting with all aspects of work covering infrastructure, plant and equipment to deliver high quality service to Cabrini Health customers. The Trade Assistant is responsible for providing support to Engineering Supervisor/Manager as required and to participate in all activities as necessary to deliver a safe and compliance facility.
Key responsibilities include:
Basic assistance with all types of trade with a focus on following up daily jobs listed in Service Manager software
Working in a safe and reliable operational manner
Assisting with hospital plant operation, basic troubleshooting and repairs
Carrying out first level repairs to hospital buildings, systems plant and equipment
Providing services at Cabrini Brighton and/or Malvern and other sites
About you
Ideally you will have previous work experience as a Trade Assistant in a hospital/facility operation or workshop environment with building and/or mechanical aptitude.
You will also have the following:
White Card (preferred), which is a general construction induction card, is required for workers who want to carry out construction work / trades
Electrical licence (preferred)
A current and valid Victorian Driver’s licence
General handyman skills – basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, Air Handling Units, filters checking and cleaning/replacing
Experience operating hand and power tools
Previous experience in Air Conditioning general operation is preferred
Sound knowledge of safe working practices and procedures in a workshop environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Basic computer skills: Service Manager software and competence in Microsoft Excel, Word
Flexibility to assist with the needs of the engineering team as required
Vigilance and observant for faults and defects in plant, machinery, equipment and/or buildings
Sound knowledge of safe working practices and procedures in a workshop environment
