As a Market Data Sourcing Manager within the COO Global Procurement team, you will work closely with Business and Infrastructure stakeholders to support their requirements for mission critical product licenses, including indices, data and information services. Our focus is to enable Deutsche Bank and our clients to excel through performance of vendor management best practices, including negotiations, cost discipline and market data product knowledge. As a member of Global Procurement, you will partner closely with colleagues in other Market Data functions, as well as in Legal, Risk, and Technology.
Responsibilities
- Support the commercial and contractual aspect of numerous sourcing activities, including new deals and renewals, for your assigned Market Data suppliers and services.
- Foster strong relationships across the DB Businesses, Market Data Business Analysts and Market Data Procurement to develop and deliver cost optimization for the Market Data category.
- Apply various Business usage and regulatory requirements, along with DB Legal and Risk Controls to your assigned contracts.
- Achieve success through negotiated cost reductions and avoidances, as well as partner with Business stakeholders to find cancellation or displacement opportunities.
- Develop and apply market data product expertise to deliver quality outcomes. Conclude your activities with post deal system updates and communications to internal stakeholders.
Skills
- Market Data Experience: 5 – 10 + years of experience supporting Market Data services, preferably in a Banking environment, with knowledge of financial services departments and market data suppliers such as Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, and S&P. Participation and awareness of various MDS industry forums – FISD, IPUG, COSSIOM
- Contract Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills to drive cost optimization with ability to understand complex market data commercial models offered by suppliers (usage based, Intellectual property licensing, enterprise deals) and create favorable contracts using strategic sourcing processes e.g. RFP.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Demonstrate an analytical approach to problem-solving and process improvements, applying sound judgment to identify root causes and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Calero MDSL or equivalent Market Data inventory platform for reporting, contract updates and service/user structures for renewal due diligence. University degree or equivalent and strong Microsoft Office / 365 skills (e.g. pivot tables, presentations).
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to work in virtual, global teams, to manage time sensitive workloads/deadlines; support financial budgets and cost-saving proposals for senior management whilst articulating market data opportunities and product strategies.
