The Sales Operations Intern is responsible for developing and evaluating all analytics and reporting for the assigned business unit, which ensures data-driven insights and solutions for the sales/commercial organization. This role requires a deep understanding of sales data, performance, trends, and using developed and ad hoc reporting to distill insights to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Become the SME on the sales reporting platform (PBI) - partner cross-functionally to develop a deep understanding of the BI platform and reporting tools, including functionality of the software, navigation through reports, customization and exporting, and being able to leverage reports and data to support the business and answer business critical questions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Training during/after new hire classes to train on PBI and offer continued support to the sales team on report navigation and understanding.
  • Prepare and distribute regular sales performance reporting – with critical focus on accuracy, adjustments, and a deep understanding of the metrics, scorecards, and ability to iterate improvements.
  • Prepare sales rankings, track changes, and monitor fairness and effectiveness of award programs.
  • Develop reporting and process to provide awareness of rep productivity, brand penetration, and strategic alignment/execution.
  • Assist in the creation of and take ownership for Rep-Region productivity and performance dashboards, which could include: sales performance, territory productivity, pipeline integration, KPIs, key accounts.
  • Respond to requests for ad hoc analysis - balancing urgency with ability to execute.
  • Lead analytic initiatives as required to improve the design, utilization, and understanding of data and metrics to enable the sales team and commercial leadership to make informed data-driven decisions.
  • Execute on annual territory planning for respective areas inclusive of evaluating territories and making recommendations on changes to optimize customers, tracking zip/customer alignment changes, and communicating new territory structures.
  • Design and implementation of variable compensation plans and sales quota methodology.
  • Maintain sales-territory/customer alignment.
  • Collaborate and coordinate across Commercial Operations to best support changing business needs.
  • Supports strategic objectives as defined by Executive Leadership, and provides insight into performance, variances, territory evaluation, and other key metrics.
  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus’ Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Actively working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or equivalent degree
  • Knowledge of technology systems including CRM, Microsoft 365, and Business Intelligence Tool (Power BI)
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional business leaders, as well as internal business partners, with an ability to identify and focus on priorities.
  • Must be self-motivated with high commitment and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness in report design and outputs are essential.
