Raytheon is looking for a Radar Systems Engineer II to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.
This position is located onsite in Woburn, MA.
What You will Do:
You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities:
Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements
Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions
Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance
Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers
Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in field of engineering or related technical discipline
Experience with Battle Management command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, Radar Systems or signal processing techniques
Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools
Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues
Experience working with Matlab, C/C++, Java or DOORS
Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
Experience with MS Office Suite
Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture
Experience with radar system concepts; detection, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance
Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance
Experience and interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development and implementation
Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement
Previous military service
Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs
Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
Active DoD Secret Clearance or greater
Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline
