Summary of Job Duties:
The Access Coordinator II in the Psychiatric Research Institute works under the supervision of the Access Supervisor and provides comprehensive support for patient care activities. This position may meet, greet, and assist the public. This position answers telephones and/or may coordinate appointments in a call center environment. This position may perform other duties to support patient care activities as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent 

  • Plus Two years of customer service or healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge in basic medical terminology, medical terminology competent within 3 months of hire

  • Call center experience. Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
     


Additional Information:

Requirements:
  • Collects and posts payments and issues receipts
  • Conducts insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients and requesting outside records
  • Ensures adequate stock of supplies, and cleans and maintains equipment and waiting rooms
  • Conducts pre-registration, inputs and/or updates patient information, processes walk-ins, creates new patient charts, and accesses systems for orders
  • Schedules and coordinates appointments and surgeries or tests using hospital systems by processing visit notifications of patients
  • Records daily and monthly statistics and communicates any medical records issues
  • Performs other duties as needed
