Job purpose

Under the leadership of Regional Management Corporation’s (RMC) Chief Data & Analytics Officer, the Senior Associate, Data Analyst role will join the Data & Analytics Department’s Enterprise Reporting function.  Capitalizing on RMC’s recently completed Enterprise Data Warehouse, the Enterprise Reporting function is taking the company’s Data Transformation initiative to its logical next step, reporting. We use industry-leading tools to build on-demand, dynamic, and interactive reporting that drives operational efficiency, business insights, and better decision making. This role supports every department at RMC, through standardized reporting and ad hoc support.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build new, informative dashboards and enhance existing dashboards
  • Evolve reporting to factor in forecasting
  • Reconcile data from source to reporting presentation layer
  • Analyze company metrics, both methodologies and calculations, and produce recommendations for management to standardize where needed
  • Become SME on current and future data infrastructures
  • Perform ad hoc data and reporting analyses
  • Develop proposals for fully automated data and reporting solutions and present to management/stakeholders
  • Support data ownership function for Data & Analytics team
  • Support the ongoing Enterprise Data Warehouse development effort, inclusive of technical requirements analysis and user acceptance testing, as needed
  • Present convincing arguments to improve business processes backed by sound data and analytical methods

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, Finance/Economics, Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Proven business experience in a reporting or analytics role for at least 5 years
  • Experience building reports using modern Business Intelligence tools
  • Fluency in SQL
  • Financial Services experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Statistics
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Consumer finance experience
  • Advanced coding experience in using programming languages like Python, R, Spark, and Scala
  • Experience using BI tools like Sigma, Tableau, PowerBI, and Alteryx

  • Understanding of loan amortization methods and schedules
