Job description

Reporting to: Conor Dunne & David Urban, Co-heads of Volunteer Support

Why should I apply for this role?

Are you interested in helping others to maximise their potential? Do you want to design and implement training programmes key to development of Moot staff IST and participants?  We require a self-driven team member to design and implement training modules for all attending volunteers for the world scout moot.

Sure, we can't offer a six-figure salary or yoga classes on the roof(yet!) What we can promise is that you will enhance old skills, learn new ones, and meet some truly great people on the way! See below for more details!

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Designing training modules in line with requirements as set out by WOSM and the moot planning team
  • Helping with the selection and implementation of a training platform to deliver training to over 500 volunteers
  • Gathering data and ensuring that completion of modules is in line with agreed upon deadlines as set out by volunteer support

Criteria

We are looking for a person with experience in learning and development, from both a software and implementation level. Both professional and volunteer experience is relevant. We require experience with international scout events from at least IST perspective, preferably higher (event organiser, CMT). Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required as the candidate will be liaising with external and internal stakeholders to implement training programmes. A background in data collection and analysis is also an advantage.

Perks and Benefits

We are sure you will develop your skills, meet great people and have a chance to be part of an unforgettable event. You will shape IST experience from the ground up. But more importantly, you will show volunteering in scouts is not just about work, but about friendship, fun and making positive change in peoples’ lives.

Time Commitment and Terms

This role will require time investment, from 2021 right through to the Moot itself, and post-Moot review. This role will entail continuous remote and possibly face-to-face meetings both on evenings and weekends. The successful individual(s) will also be expected to attend the Moot event in its entirety and will likely need to be available in the days prior/post Moot for logistical and delivery purposes.

We do not recommend taking another major voluntary role in the duration of this project.

We require good standing checks to be completed by every candidate.

Terms of Appointment

This is a voluntary unremunerated role. However, reasonable expenses in line with the Scouting Ireland & World Organisation of the Scout Movement (whichever is the most relevant) expenses policies will be paid.

Applicant agrees to all Moot policies, specifically Privacy Policy.
