Job description

Position summary:
The Dual Credit Liaison serves as a primary point of contact for partnering high schools, ensuring the smooth implementation and administration of the dual credit program. This role supports students, faculty, and administrators in navigating course enrollment, academic advising, compliance, recruitment, and communication between the college and partnering high schools. 

Position responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain communication between high school and college staff regarding dual credit offerings, schedules, and expectations.
  • Advise students and parents on dual credit opportunities, eligibility requirements, registration processes, and academic policies.
  • Assist in the application and registration process for dual credit students in both academic and workforce courses
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accrediting body policies related to dual credit.
  • Provide support and training to high school faculty teaching dual credit courses, as applicable.
  • Organize orientation sessions, campus visits, and informational meetings for students and parents.
  • Collaborate with college and school district staff to evaluate program success and areas for improvement.
  • Support recruitment and outreach efforts to expand dual credit participation.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with high schools, students, faculty and staff.
  • Focus on dual credit matriculation efforts for both academic and workforce dual credit students.
  • Works with business/industry to identify gaps in worker education and training.
  • This position requires working some evening hours to support dual credit efforts.
  • Assist with career assessment activities for dual credit students and prospective dual credit students in the 8th grade or lower grade levels.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to the schools and communities within the service area.
  • Support other areas of the college when needed.  This includes but is not limited to admissions, recruiting, and advising.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in K-12 or higher education settings, especially with dual credit or college readiness programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with student information systems, registration software, and FERPA guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Computer skills.
  • Must be a well-organized, self-motivated, self-starting and high energy individual.
  • Requires attention to detail and effective customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to travel off campus to dual credit sites.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very little physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • No or very little exposure to physical risk.
  • Hours will be from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Fridays.
  • Will require flexibility in actual hours as required by the department, students, and business clients.
  • Some travel will be required.
Safety:
  • Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
