We are seeking an Accountant with a solid foundation in accounting and some years of experience to join our team in London. In this hybrid role, you will support our UK operations with a variety of finance and accounting tasks, from invoicing and reporting to compliance support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment, ideally bringing some exposure to the creative industry and a flexible, agile mindset.
Job Functions:
Financial Administration: Support the maintenance of accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (and potentially assisting with other European jurisdictions).
Invoicing & Payments:Preparation and booking of client and supplier invoices, processing of payments, and monitoring of collections to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Reporting: Perform monthly and annual book closings; provide insights into financial performance and resolve accounting/reporting issues.
Process Assistance: Participate in ongoing efforts to improve finance processes, including automation and efficiency improvements, under the guidance of senior team members.
Balance Sheet & Income Statement Support: Support the accurate recording of transactions and assist with compiling data for financial statements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with vendors, clients, and internal teams to support day-to-day finance operations and resolve basic queries.
Cash Flow Management: Assist in managing cash flow and customer collections.
Compliance Support: Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns, tax filings, and other required documentation, in collaboration with senior accountants or external advisors.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
University degree in Finance or Economics (ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualifications preferred).
3+ years of experience in finance or external audit, preferably in dynamic start-ups or fast-paced international environments.
Technical Knowledge:
Excellent accounting expertise, with proven experience in IFRS and UK GAAP.
Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
Skills & Attributes:
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Strong analytical skills and a hands-on attitude.
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse cultures.
Highly motivated and delivery-focused.
Languages:
Fluent in English (required).
Spanish proficiency (a significant advantage).
Proficiency in other Northern European languages (e.g., Dutch or Finnish) is a plus.
