THE OPPORTUNITY
Our Rapid Diagnostics Division is looking for a strong Product Marketing Specialist, Cardiometabolics to join our US Commercial team based out of our location in Lake Forest, Illinois or remote. This individual will own marketing programs and activations with our distribution partners, including strategic planning, project management, and tactical execution of programs.

What You’ll Work On
The role is responsible for leading the U.S. CardioMetabolics marketing efforts within our Rapid Diagnostics’ CardioMetabolics business (incl. Diabetes, Lipids and Kidney Disease). Scope includes on-market management of our point-of-care (POC) tests in addition to leading efforts for market or menu expansion. This position is responsible for driving the marketing efforts to maximize opportunities with both current and new launches across existing and new customer bases.
On-Market Product Strategy, Execution, and Support:
Lead marketing efforts for the CardioMetabolic portfolio in the U.S., including promotional campaigns, collateral, and support materials
Develop annual plans, including product positioning and competitive selling strategies, and gain leadership buy-in to grow product sales, profit, and share
Engage and support the US field team and customers, including necessary marketing support for customer meetings and conventions
Generate market and competitive analyses to inform marketing campaigns and strategies that defend and take share
Maintain product demand forecast to ensure effective inventory management and support financial planning
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, and other internal stakeholders to gain an understanding of customer needs and barriers
Launch Planning:
Engage with the product development and global marketing teams to inform U.S. portfolio pipeline, product characteristic needs for successful launch
Define and align the US marketing launch plan alongside the platform marketing managers new, modified products including development of clear and compelling value propositions by customer type and segment
Structure a market-entry pricing approach to maximize customer value, in close collaboration with the Market Access, Pricing, and the platform marketing team
Collaborate with Scientific Affairs and Medical Education teams to develop a KOL strategy and create HCP champions for the products
Marketing/Product Management:
Lead collaboration between Abbott marketing team and distributors’ marketing teams. Build specific marketing programs and campaigns tie dto product to enable innovative approaches to capture mindshare
Lead collaboration between US marketing team and Internal Cross-functional areas in support of your product portfolio
Understand distributor business dynamics and competitive environment and potential impact on product line
Subject Matter Expert:
Serve as the subject matter expert for the US CardioMetabolics market to inform commercial approaches to reach the varied customer segments.
Train sales personnel on customer segmentation, product positioning, and competitive value propositions
Review healthcare and competitive landscapes to ensure our commercial organizations are kept up to date on changing marketplace dynamics
Identify market research needs to ensure continued understanding of the market
Research, analyze and anticipate market conditions to identify market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy, and identify opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product differentiation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Biological Science, or related field
3 years of Product Marketing Management experience.
Traveling up to 30% of the time
Experience in highly regulated environments, such as diagnostics and/or medical devices
Strong written and verbal communicator with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to create and deliver impactful presentations
Ability to confidently establish objectives and desired outcomes for marketing initiatives
Creative and innovative skills with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, endurance, and a can-do attitude.
Demonstrated success in product marketing, execution, driving
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA with marketing emphasis preferred
Experience in diagnostics marketing; Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics highly preferred
At least 3 years of Sales or Distribution experience in Diagnostics.
Experience within Cardiovascular or Diabetes therapeutic areas
Excellent quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills
Proficient at forecast modeling and pricing approaches
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

The base pay for this position is
$97,300.00 – $194,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
