Job Summary

This position reports to the Billing & Collections Manager and will provide full-service support to attorneys on collecting outstanding accounts receivable balances.  The position will be responsible for the control, monitoring and collection of AR for specific offices and/or insurance carriers.  The Collections Coordinator will work closely with the Billing Coordinators and E-Billers to collect outstanding invoices and resolve any issues or concerns from the clients and/or insurance carriers. We are seeking a positive, hard-working individual with an excellent client service approach.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent client service to our internal and external clients
  • Review reports to identify accounts with past due balances, and proactively reach out to clients or carriers to collect
  • Work closely with attorneys to expedite collections  
  • Take actions to encourage timely payments
  • Keep Billing & Collections Manager informed of all difficult and complex collections issues
  • Performs account reconciliations
  • Work closely with Billing Coordinator to ensure bills are rendered according to client requirements
  • Check invoice status on E-Vendor payment portals
  • Forward invoices, payment histories, and other reports as requested by clients
  • Document activity by updating collections database with details of attorney and client communications
  • Monitor and respond to accounts receivable hotline and e-mail box for incoming requests                                                                                                          
  • Work on special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed

Requirements:

• Degree in Business Administration, Management, or Accounting is preferred

• 1 year minimum law firm experience strongly preferred

• Knowledge of Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and Teams

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to provide professional customer service by phone and e-mail is required

• Well organized, positive attitude and a team player

• Knowledge of Aderant, E-Billing a plus

For Westchester County the expected hourly wage for this position is between $31.10 and $35.10.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

For Maryland, the expected hourly wage for this position is between $25.40 and $28.70.   The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
