Pay Range

$41,600.00-$51,000.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.

JM is searching for a Sustainability Intern to work with us on projects from July 1 through August 29, 2025.   As a Sustainability Intern in Research & Development you will work with engineering, science, and sustainability professionals alongside company leadership by participating in hands on activities such as data collection and analysis, competitive benchmarking, regulatory reporting readiness, target development, and other department sustainability initiatives.

Your Day to Day:

  • Potential projects include the following:
  • Researching existing and proposed sustainability projects:
    • Building business cases for sustainability goals and establishing measurement and reporting methodologies for JM targets
    • Translating sustainability goals to tangible value (financial and intrinsic)
    • Preparing summary reports for JM goals and comparing to benchmark competitors
  • Data collection and analysis:
    • Quality, sourcing and collection methods for Scope 3 GHG data
    • Reviewing and revising PowerBI tools to generate automated reporting
    • Developing and utilizing tools and sustainability frameworks to capture and report on environmental and social targets
  • Regulatory and compliance requirements:
    • Working with JM legal team to build a regulatory compliance schedule including gap analyses and assurance requirements
    • Documenting key similarities and differences on reporting requirements needed to report on SB 261 and CSRD

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Sustainability-related programs
  • Completed at least two semesters of undergraduate course work and enrolled in classes for Fall 2025
  • Exposure to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook) tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment and solid leadership skills
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to PowerBI
  • Exposure to engineered products manufacturing
