How you'll make a difference?

Perform a variety of Receivable Operations functions centered on the processing and distribution of mail correspondence. The role will involve a high volume of mail correspondence relating to patient accounts. This position is responsible for ensuring all documents are properly scanned into the Application Xtender system and manage storage of records (per Records Retention Policy).

What will your duties and responsibilities be?

The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.

  • Ensure work area is organized and secure.

  • Timely processing of incoming mail must be completed to meet business need.

  • Prep, sort, scan, import, and validate documents received (Billing, Cash, EFTs, EOB, and Mail) using Kofax Imagining system and Application Xtender into patients/facilities accounts.

  • Import / Index / Route documents into patients/facilities accounts within Application Xtender.

  • Prepare Control Forms for documents which are sent to off-site storage.

  • Analyze and research incoming mail to enable routing /archive properly.

  • Meet daily cycle times for mail processing.

  • Demonstrate effective interactions with peers and managements; maintain effective communication lines/methods; engage management to help in solving problems as needed.

  • Responsible for managing and resolving assigned tasks in a timely and effective manner.

  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding mail processing.

  • Good understanding of all work instructions, processes, guidelines, and policies for Cash Support processes.

  • Performs additional job tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and escalate issues appropriately to OTC Leadership.

  • Communicate any system problems to I.S. (Verbally or by submitting Help Desk Tickets).

  • Timely completion of all corporate wide and departmental training.

  • Understand, promote, and demonstrate Compliance adherence.

  • Regular attendance required.

  • Promote and exude a positive work environment.

What skills and experience will you need?

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.

Education/Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Nitro/Adobe.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail oriented with emphasis on quality and timeliness.

  • Ability to react quickly and positively to priority changes as required by the needs of internal customers.

  • Ability to work well individually and with others.

  • Good typing skills.

  • Working knowledge of medical document types such as audit request, appeals, refund request, and explanation of payments.

  • Experience reading and understanding remittance advice and explanations of benefits across various payer sources.

  • Must have basic clerical skills such as copying, faxing, and scanning.

  • Strong teamwork behaviors while abiding by the company’s code of conduct.

  • Strong time management, organizational skills and written skills.               

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and heavy volume while meeting all deadlines.

  • Strong work ethic – supervision is minimal, yet assistance will be readily available as needed from AR leadership team.

What qualifications are preferred?

The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.

Education/Certifications:

  • N/A

Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Oracle, Application Xtender, and Kofax a plus.

  • 1-2 years Healthcare Mail Processing experience preferred but willing to train.
