Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Lead CDI Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN

Lead CDI Specialist expands on the Facility CDI Specialist role to include reporting and data analysis for facilities and / or service lines. Additional focus on provider interaction during formal and informal educational sessions including participation in the creation of educational content for several assigned service lines. The Lead CDI specialist is responsible for ensuring efficiency and productivity of the processes and workflows within the CDI team, participating in orientation of new staff, reporting any issues to the Regional Manager or CDI Director. The lead CDI specialist displays leadership skills and is involved in committees / projects as indicated.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

  • Registered Nurse with active Kentucky or Indiana license, CCDS and/or CDIP, and ACDIS or AHIMA member required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years acute health care nursing (including 1 year experience in clinical documentation), OR Associate degree in nursing with 5 years acute health care nursing including one-year clinical documentation integrity experience. 
  • Knowledge of ICD10-CM coding principles and procedures, DRG assignment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, data 
    entry and data retrieval systems, Encoder, and internet.
