The Role

Strong technical skill level working in a Cisco environment monitoring and maintaining the network for the State of Arizona. Works with service providers and customer resources to troubleshoot and resolve outage events as well as making changes to router and switch configurations per customer requests. Position is fully Work From Home/office with requirements to dispatch to customer locations as necessary and facilitate On-Call rotations.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1/2 support for troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Provide proactive network monitoring, following critical triage procedures for trouble isolation.
  • Monitor, respond, communicate, troubleshoot, and drive resolution on network outages, alarms, faults and fraud conditions. 
  • Dispatch to customer locations for hands on troubleshooting of network or voice issues.
  • Monitor and follow up on network outage and change activity; document any changes made to the network.
  • Interface with Vendors to escalate and drive resolution on cases.
  • Engage internal engineering resources to troubleshoot and resolve advanced cases.
  • Adhere to AZNet processes and procedures.
  • Identify and document in case notes troubleshooting and resolution steps.
  • Work closely with all other essential engineering and field team members during the life of any scheduled or unscheduled outage/incident.
  • Knowledge of/Ability to Troubleshoot: IP subnetting, IP routing, IPSEC tunnels, SD-WAN, VOIP, IPVPN, and VRRP/HSRP
  • Knowledge of/Ability to Troubleshoot: Network Hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, and desk phones

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers and customers
  • Must be willing to work Shift work 24x7 coverage, weekends, holidays and on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in the communications, networking or cybersecurity fields.
  • Understand layer 2 and layer 3 technologies (BGP, VLANs, Trunking, ACLs, VRF).
  • Basic enterprise Linux skills, Windows skills, and Basic Windows Server Administration.
  • Familiar with Network Monitoring tools.
  • Ability to work in a consultative manner with others, i.e., establish rapport, interview, fact-find, present options recommend solutions, follow-up and customer-focused behavior.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment with changing requirements and competing priorities.
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$56,900 - $76,000 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY  
$59,850 - $79,800 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI  
$62,700 - $83,600 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
