Job description

Our client; a strategy and innovation advisory start-up focused on accelerating development in Africa, is currently looking to hire strategy analysts for their Abuja office.

What You Will Do and How You Will Grow
  • Be at the front line of our research, analysis, and presentation for all the work we do for our clients – and in the process develop deep data-driven knowledge on a vast range of important topics, across sectors and geographies. A few examples of work done by our Analysts include:
  1. Used a set of indicators and publicly available data to analyze capacity for undertaking health research across 200+ countries and develop a global map of research capacity, as part of efforts to advise leading global funders of health research on where to target investments in research capacity strengthening.
  2. Combined proxy data around a set of business viability indicators to undertake an assessment of the current performance of a fin-tech startup as part of due diligence analysis on behalf of prospective early-stage investors.
  • Think critically and creatively to develop insights based on their findings from the research process – thereby growing their expertise as structured thinkers and problem solvers.
  • Analysts can work on a wide range of projects through which they build for themselves a solid foundation for the future advancement of their professional career in any chosen sector or discipline.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record from a top university
  • Valuable exposure to practices and norms at a leading global management consultancy, or having a similar knowledge-based private sector experience (through internships, volunteerism, course work, or other experience)
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative, and familiarity/competence with the use of tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis, including MS Excel (experience with financial analysis a plus)
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral, and proficiency with the use of MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Understands, and has an emerging personal perspective on development issues on the continent such as public health policy, employment and job creation, or research capacity strengthening
  • Fluent with English speaking and business writing skill
