Job description

About Glean:

Founded in 2019, Glean is an innovative AI-powered knowledge management platform designed to help organizations quickly find, organize, and share information across their teams. By integrating seamlessly with tools like Google Drive, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, Glean ensures employees can access the right knowledge at the right time, boosting productivity and collaboration. The company’s cutting-edge AI technology simplifies knowledge discovery, making it faster and more efficient for teams to leverage their collective intelligence.

Glean was born from Founder & CEO Arvind Jain’s deep understanding of the challenges employees face in finding and understanding information at work. Seeing firsthand how fragmented knowledge and sprawling SaaS tools made it difficult to stay productive, he set out to build a better way - an AI-powered enterprise search platform that helps people quickly and intuitively access the information they need. Since then, Glean has evolved into the leading Work AI platform, combining enterprise-grade search, an AI assistant, and powerful application- and agent-building capabilities to fundamentally redefine how employees work.

About the Role:

Glean is looking for a talented Quality Assurance Lead  to join our rapidly expanding, VC-backed startup. Glean is the work assistant with intuition. Find exactly what you need, right when you need it so you and your team can get big things done. Our team works hard and plays hard. We are professional, creative, passionate, and most importantly - customer-obsessed.

As the QA Lead, you would develop and drive our test automation charter. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in building frameworks, tools, and infrastructure that enable efficient, scalable testing across Glean.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the development of our test automation frameworks, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and speed
  • Create reusable test libraries and components that can be shared across different product areas
  • Lead technical implementation of performance testing and monitoring solutions
  • Develop custom reporting and analytics tools to provide insights into test coverage and quality metrics
  • Drive adoption of newer testing technologies and approaches (visual testing, accessibility, security, AI-assisted testing, etc.)
  • Provide technical mentorship to QA engineers on automation best practices and framework usage
  • Optimize test execution pipelines for faster feedback in CI/CD environments
  • Implement solutions for test data management and synthetic data generation
  • Partner with development teams to implement shift-left testing practices
  • Lead root cause analysis for critical issues and drive systematic improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality considerations are addressed early

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6-9 years of software testing experience with strong focus on automation
  • Expert-level programming skills in Python or Java
  • Deep understanding of testing framework architecture (page objects, custom assertions, reporting integrations)
  • Strong experience with modern testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress etc) and API testing frameworks
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and working with Containers
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP
  • Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies
  • Proven track record of building tools and frameworks used by engineering teams
  • Understanding of testing patterns and anti-patterns in automation
