Scriptwriter – Frederick, MD
KeenLogic is seeking a Scriptwriter to support one of our clients. The Scriptwriter will be responsible for developing compelling scripts and storylines for multimedia communications, including video, podcast, broadcast, and live presentations. This role supports messaging initiatives by crafting clear, impactful narratives that engage diverse audiences and align with agency objectives.

Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen
Must be able to pass a federal background check
One of the following combinations is required:
Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience, or
High school diploma with 7+ years of experience
Proven experience writing for multimedia formats, including video, live events, and digital media
Strong storytelling and narrative development skills
Ability to write dialogue, scenes, and concepts that support strategic messaging goals
Experience adapting complex topics into accessible language for general audiences
Excellent grammar, editing, and formatting skills
Familiarity with federal communications standards and plain language principles a plus
Job Duties:
Script Development: Write original scripts for videos, interviews, and staged presentations that align with agency campaigns and communications goals.
Narrative Creation: Develop storylines, characters, dialogue, and structure for multimedia content across formats and platforms.
Content Research: Conduct background research on key topics to ensure scripts are accurate, relevant, and contextually appropriate.
Creative Collaboration: Work with communications teams, graphic designers, video producers, and subject matter experts to translate ideas into compelling scripts.
Revisions & Editing: Incorporate stakeholder feedback and edit scripts for clarity, tone, timing, and messaging alignment.
Message Alignment: Ensure all content adheres to agency standards, voice, and branding guidelines.
Production Readiness: Prepare scripts for on-camera delivery, voiceover, and live presentation, formatting appropriately for each medium.
Tone & Audience Targeting: Adjust language and structure to fit intended audience types and delivery formats.
