Description

The Senior Credit Officer plays a key role in assessing new multifamily lending opportunities, ensuring that Lima One Capital maintains strong credit quality while adhering to established policies and procedures. They will conduct thorough evaluations to determine a borrower's creditworthiness, analyzing both the financial standing of the borrower as well as assessing the viability of the underlying project serving as collateral. Additionally, the Senior Credit Officer is responsible for overseeing multiple underwriting tasks at once, including direct interactions with borrowers, preparing credit memorandums, performing market analysis, and managing various pipeline activities. 


Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite multifamily property, ensuring market viability and risk mitigation strategies
  • Evaluate borrower risk, including business strategy, experience, and real estate investments
  • Prepare and present credit memorandums detailing lending opportunities, risks, mitigating factors, and financial analyses
  • Conduct credit assessments, market analyses, and real estate appraisal reviews
  • Collaborate with Loan Officers, Relationship Managers, and various Genesis departments to ensure thorough due diligence
  • Analyze legal documentation related to borrower structure, compliance (AML/KYC), and loan agreements
  • Leverage underwriting expertise to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources to conduct analysis and provide clear recommendations
  • Manage competing priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Identify and escalate potential credit issues to management
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years in private real estate lending in underwriting, credit analysis or related experience (specific to multifamily properties)
  • Expertise in real estate lending, loan structuring, and underwriting policies
  • Strong knowledge of credit and financial analysis, including cash flow, balance sheet, tax returns, and real estate valuation
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, pro-forma statements, and NOI/DSCR analysis
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications for pipeline management
  • Construction lending experience is a plus
