An independent national retailer in South Africa, renowned for its commitment to customer delight, is seeking a hands-on, driven, and detail-oriented E-Commerce Operations Manager to join its team. This is a full-day, in-office role based in Cape Town, integral to scaling the company's digital business and delivering a world-class, seamless omni-channel experience.
The E-Commerce Operations Manager will lead the operational engine room of the digital business, taking charge of the e-commerce dark store and ensuring flawless product availability across various platforms. This individual will be crucial in maintaining top-tier relationships with digital ecosystem partners. They'll lead a small, dedicated team and collaborate cross-functionally with fulfillment, content, and platform partners to ensure digital shelves are consistently stocked, accurate, and delivering an exceptional customer experience nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce Operations: Managing and optimising dark store operations for national fulfillment and warehousing, ensuring accurate inventory readiness, and maintaining real-time stock availability across all digital channels.
Product & Content Management: Overseeing content and product listing processes across Shopify, Takealot, Amazon, and other platforms, focusing on high data quality, product accuracy, and visual excellence.
Partner Relationship Management: Serving as the operational point of contact for digital marketing agencies and platform partners (Shopify, Takealot, Amazon), ensuring alignment for digital campaigns, promotions, and new product launches.
Team Leadership: Guiding and developing a cross-functional team, including the Fulfillment/Dark Store Operations Team, E-Commerce Content Specialist, and E-Commerce Admin Assistant, while fostering operational excellence.
Success in this role will be defined by:
Achieving 99%+ fulfillment accuracy and on-time dispatch.
Ensuring 100% product availability for top SKUs across digital platforms.
Maintaining product listings that are always accurate, visually compelling, and compliant.
Cultivating high team engagement and low operational friction.
