Job description

[What the role is]

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team to safeguard the environmental and public health of Singapore. You will be part of the Vector Control and Operations Division responsible for planning and implementing vector-borne diseases surveillance, prevention, and control programmes. An evidence-based, integrated vector management approach underpins the work that the Division does and requires close partnership and concerted efforts by multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders.

[What you will be working on]

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Conceptualise and drive new work initiatives from inception, including developing frameworks and implementing strategies for an integrated vector management programme
  • Analyse, review and refine work processes, through data analysis and incorporation of feedback and best practices, to enhance operational efficiency and productivity
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instruction documents, ensuring clear documentation of workflows for consistent implementation
  • Promote wider usage of rat surveillance technologies by developing expertise in deployment strategies and identifying optimal scenarios for technology application
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and NEA Regional Offices to implement operational programmes pertaining to vector control
  • Develop and deliver training programmes, including needs assessment, curriculum/content design, and post-training evaluation to ensure effective learning outcomes from various internal/external stakeholder groups
  • Carry out budgeting, procurement, and contract management, as required
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of vector control programmes, present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders where required
  • Develop strategic content and key messages for public education and stakeholder engagement by providing subject matter expertise to ensure accurate and effective communication across various channels
  • Any other duties with regard to Vector Control work

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in operations planning will be an advantage
  • Enjoy thinking strategically, planning and applying analytical reasoning in operations management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle pressure under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
  • Meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Mature, independent, and resourceful
  • A committed team player with a positive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willing to work after office hours, weekends, and public holidays if required
