Kyndryl’s office is located in the heart of Oslo City Center, housed in a modern building. It is conveniently close to bus, metro, tram, and train stops. The office building offers bike parking, a cloakroom with showers, and a gym that is free for all employees to use
Key responsibilities:
Monitor IBM Mainframe systems, consoles, and automation alerts for any unusual conditions, errors, or warnings
Start, stop, and manage system tasks and jobs on IBM Mainframe systems (e.g., z/OS)
Respond to system messages, take appropriate actions according to established procedures, and escalate issues when necessary
Perform orderly shutdown and startup of major subsystems, including transaction processing systems (e.g., CICS) and database systems (e.g., DB2, IMS)
Collaborate with system programmers, production control staff, and other IT teams to ensure system health and optimal performance
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational incidents, providing first-level support and escalating to appropriate teams for complex issues
Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and documentation of system activities and incidents
Perform basic system health checks and follow established procedures for routine maintenance
Communicate effectively with technical teams and end-users regarding system status and operational issues
Adhere to established operational procedures, security guidelines, and service level agreements (SLAs)
Participate in disaster recovery exercises and assist in maintaining business continuity plans
Work in shifts, including nights and weekends, to provide 24/7 support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
Demonstrated basic computer literacy and adaptability to digital tools
Experience with scheduling software, reporting systems, and activity logging
Proficient in operating systems (Windows or macOS)
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and available to work in shifts as required
Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in task execution
Effective communicator, able to convey information clearly in a demanding environment
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Experience with Troubleshooting, Backup/Recovery and Basic Networking
Prior experience with mainframe systems is considered an asset
