Job description

Dixon is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team at our Houston, TX facility. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision metal components and inspect parts to ensure they meet engineering specifications. Key Responsibilities 

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues

  • Perform daily machine maintenance

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications

  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts

  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

  • Collaborate with team members and rotate between assignments as needed

  • Participate in ongoing training and development

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes

  • Familiar with G & M code; Mazatrol experience is a plus

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and use of precision measuring instruments

  • Strong math, reading, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. repeatedly during shift

  • Capable of standing for the duration of the shift

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
