The Operator Technician is responsible for monitoring and operating chemical manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-driven plant operations. This role supports field processes, executes chemical transfers, conducts equipment checks and maintenance preparation, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. The Operator Technician plays a key role in upholding a total quality mindset in line with continuous improvement and safety practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor field operations and report unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  • Perform safe and timely transfers of chemicals and product blends.
  • Collect, analyze, and document process samples on a defined schedule.
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance following plant safety protocols.
  • Operate auxiliary systems including safety showers, water systems, and compressors.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products using forklifts and pumps.
  • Maintain accurate field logs and SAP entries for materials and production.
  • Inspect safety equipment regularly and address or escalate issues.
  • Communicate operational changes and coordinate with Board Technicians.
  • Participate in fire safety training and support emergency response (CIMA).
  • Adhere to QA, RCMS, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Promote and model safe behavior, stopping operations if hazards arise.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in process Technology or has 5 years’ experience as an Operator in chemical/refining or industrial manufacturing space.
  • Experience in chemical plant operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with process equipment and safety procedures.
  • Basic proficiency with SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks and emergency response.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
