Job description

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Logistics Specialist is a diverse role assisting operations, transportation and supply chain depts. Key responsibilities include oversight of the life cycle of internal and customer owned tools, parts, and overstock material storage.  This position will include responsibilities for shipping preparation of outbound tools and parts. 

The following essential job functions are performed as a Logistics Specialist:

  • Perform SAP operations for inventory management
  • Conduct inventory cycle counting
  • Install and dismantle racking systems
  • Operate forklift for loading and unloading tasks
  •  Assist with holiday and event logistics
  • Assist with logistics planning tasks
  • Scan orders into computer and track shipments across multiple channels
  • Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and working environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.  The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years previous experience in logistics management or coordination preferred
  • Experience working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Forklift experience is required; must successfully complete Janicki certification course
  • Familiar with laws, regulations, and WA DOT requirements as they apply to transportation

COMPETENCIES

  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Shall possess good spatial orientation and organizational abilities
  • Must possess comprehensive PC skills, including MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
  • Must have the capacity y to learn and use new systems
  •  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but not afraid to ask for help when needed

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $23 - $40 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
