The Capital & Regulatory Reporting Crew oversees capital and reporting changes, including Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) reporting. Our ESG reporting change team collaborates with the ESG Reporting & Data team to deliver solutions that support the Group’s commitment to Australia’s net zero transition by 2050, by continuing to manage the risks and opportunities of climate change, supporting our customers and calling for an inclusive transition.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance with capital and reporting standards
  • Maintaining capital and reporting systems
  • Managing business changes impacting capital and reporting (e.g., new products, system changes, unique transactions)
  • Coordinating business engagement, readiness, and technology for APRA changes
  • Developing and implementing the ESG reporting engine
  • Leveraging Group Strategic Platforms to meet new regulatory capital and reporting requirements

Do work that matters

Your role is to support the Crew Lead of Capital & Regulatory Reporting and ESG Data and Reporting team in ensuring that:

  • CBA has a clear and documented understanding of the ESG reporting requirements,
  • The climate data is strategically sourced;
  • And the new technology solution is adaptable to changes in: compliance requirements, product and processes, and systems.

We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to

  • Lead a small newly established team of business analysts, including providing ongoing coaching and performance management.
  • Work with the ESG Reporting team to drive and execute the implementation of mandatory climate-related financial reporting requirements for CBA.
  • Understand the ESG reporting requirements and their translation into the reporting engines and processes.
  • Deep-dive into issues that are identified in the ESG reporting process and making prioritisation decisions and negotiating ESG reporting outcomes against other deliverables e.g. business and new regulatory requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and deliverables across Business, Technology, Finance and Treasury to deliver the ESG reporting backlog.
  • Partner with the business and downstream reporting stakeholders to deliver accurate ESG reporting.
  • Lead ongoing communication to the internal governance committees and associated Working Groups for changes to data sourcing and infrastructure

Other qualities you may possess include

  • Strong knowledge of climate-related mandatory disclosures would be favourable, with over 10 years of experience in banking, ESG, finance, or risk roles required. The ability to develop strong and trusted relationships across the organisation, to enlist participation and support
  • High degree of commercial acumen
  • Strong values-based leadership and demonstrated involvement with involvement with strategic decisions
  • Problem solving mindset to drive automation and process improvement
  • Proven ability to deliver challenging tasks, managing multiple deliverables and demonstrated ability in navigating ambiguity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills in talent development and coaching
