Job description

About:

Welby Health is a fast-growing, San Diego-based digital healthcare company focused on helping patients manage chronic conditions through innovative technology and high-touch clinical services. Our vision is to make the world healthier by providing patients with access to the care and education they need to live better lives.

As we expand our clinical operations to support our growing patient and client base, we are seeking full-time medical assistants (MAs) to join our remote care team specifically to support our gastroenterology program. In this role, you will assist with remote physiological monitoring (RPM), contribute to the development and oversight of tailored patient care plans, and provide ongoing guidance and support to our patients. This position specifically supports a large gastroenterology practice, so we are looking for candidates with experience in managing chronic gastroenterology conditions.

If you are passionate about patient care and looking for a role that minimizes administrative burden, this is an ideal opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review patient vitals and care plans using our proprietary technology platform
  • Collaborate with registered nurse (RN) case managers to support the development and execution of care plans addressing clinical, behavioral, and social health needs
  • Respond to alerts related to patient vitals and provide appropriate clinical guidance
  • Deliver patient education and support through video, phone, and asynchronous communication
  • Coordinate care with physicians and serve as a liaison between providers and patients
  • Help patients build healthier habits through personalized coaching and support
  • Coordinate care and follow-up with providers as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and valid medical assistant (MA) certification
  • Associate's degree in nursing or a closely related healthcare discipline
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, technology-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in case management
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a closely related healthcare discipline

What Welby Health Offers:

  • Fully remote work environment
  • Competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with matching
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
  • Meaningful opportunities to contribute within a mission-driven, fast-growing startup
