Job description

Lead Delivery Manager, Master Data Center Inc. d/b/a/ Clarivate Analytics (US) LLC, Ann Arbor, MI

Duties: Develop and deliver complex, business critical, cross-functional technical assignments for software applications in an Agile/Scrum Development Environment. Plan and deliver complex technical software solutions for software applications built on Microsoft technology stack. Guide all phases of program execution - from planning, requirements, delivery, release management and support, and collaborate with program management, product, finance, and technology. Analyze delivery risks and issues across assignments and provide high level software expertise to provide software solutions that addresses and/or mitigates issues. Develop and implement solid software technical plans to leadership. Perform and guide software maintenance and testing to ensure system efficiencies. Document all application upgrades and implementations to serve as reference for future maintenance. Drive and measure improvements to the flow of work and the minimization of waste both within a team/project and up/downstream of them as necessary to break silos and deliver increased value to the organization. Proactively understand and manage a teams'/projects' risks, issues & dependencies, and mentor/coach others in this. Articulate risk, issues, budgeting challenges, and upcoming project planning via weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports to stakeholders and executives at all levels. Draft end-to-end project plans to track milestones and delivery timelines.   Lead the visualization and continuous improvement of ways of working within a team/project and coach this across the wider organization. Collaborate with the DevOps team to articulate a set framework and implement automation for all deployments. Exhibit a well-understood approach to planning and forecasting at both ticket and project level for team(s) and project(s). This approach balances sensibly between up-front and as-you-go planning, makes trade-offs and assumptions clear, and is centered on driving measurable outcomes. Display clear and ruthless prioritization and scope control at both strategic and tactical levels for a team/project. Identify clear and current forecasts and provide reliable input into team and departmental decision-making for a team / project. Act as a valued escalation point for any team member, resolve issues within a team, and help other Delivery Managers resolve their local issues. Act as a trusted adviser to Senior Management in the organization. Contribute to strategic decision-making. Drive continuous improvement up to the departmental level. Mentor and guide more junior team members.  No hire / fire authority.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of related experience.  Related experience must include: Software Development Lifecycle, Project Management, Project Metrics and reports, Resource Planning and Mentoring, and Intellectual Property knowledge and its lifecycle. Must have experience with Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban. Must have experience with Release Management and Risk Management. Must have experience with Jira and Confluence. Must have experience working with different teams across an organization, managing multiple complex projects, and technical understandings of the work involved. Must have strong communication skills and must have experience engaging with technical and business stakeholders to reach the underlying goals of the project.  Must have experience making executive-level reports on project progress. Position is 100% remote.
