Job description

Role Overview:
We’re seeking a self-sufficient, highly experienced Bookkeeper who understands core bookkeeping principles inside and out. This is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for a true professional who can hit the ground running and be trusted to work independently, communicate clearly, and deliver high-quality, accurate work in QuickBooks Online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage multiple client books using QuickBooks Online
  • Handle reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory matching
  • Accurately categorize transactions and manage financial records
  • Review and maintain clean, organized balance sheets and P&Ls
  • Follow existing internal processes and workflows, with willingness to adapt to JEA Financial’s specific style
  • Change Inventory Matching to Inventory Reconciliation 
  • Have a strong understanding of accrual accounting
  • Communicate proactively with team members and stay responsive during working hours
  • Maintain timesheets with full transparency and accountability

  • 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks Online required)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping workflows
  • Demonstrated experience managing inventory and payables
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • High level of integrity, independence, and accountability
  • Must be tech-savvy, responsive, and reliable with a consistent internet connection
  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients preferred
  • A quiet and professional home office setup
  • Experience working with Shopify is a plus

What We’re Not Looking For
  • No-shows, ghosting, or questionable time logging
  • Candidates relying on ChatGPT or other tools to fake knowledge
  • Beginners or anyone who needs to be taught the basics of bookkeeping

Benefits

  • Client Relationship : You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
  • Payments : All payments for your services will be handled by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you. 
  • Vacation Leaves and Holidays : While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client’s business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard. 

Salary : $7-$10/hr

Timezone: EST

Starting at 20 hours/week with the opportunity to ramp up to 40 hours/week based on performance and team needs
