Position Overview
 

Join Margaritaville at Sea as an Enterprise Data Engineer, where you will lead the design, development, and management of our master data program, focusing on operational, customer, revenue, and vendor data domains. In this key role, you will ensure data integrity and governance while providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop standards and best practices for data modeling, databases, ETL/ELT, and Analytics.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on data architecture decision-making.
  • Design logical and physical data models for complex enterprise systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions for data management.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across IT and business functions.
  • Manage and prioritize data architecture projects within budget and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation for future reference. 
  • Track project progress and report on key metrics to stakeholders
Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture or a related field
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Data Modeling: Expertise in logical and physical data modeling techniques
  • Deep understanding of relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases and implementation experience
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, data lakes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with data integration tools and processes for data movement
  • Data Governance: Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Data Security: Understanding of data security principles and encryption techniques
  • Data Analytics: Experience with analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI

  • Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and leadership skills to guide junior team members
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex data architecture projects
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data requirements and design optimal solutions
