Location: US Remote or Portland, ME

 Who you are: 

The Contract Specialist provides administrative support in the contract review and negotiations process between our partners, CIEE’s Institutional Relations team and the Legal committee. The Contract Manager will work with the Director of Sales Operations, CIEE Legal Counsel, Exec. Director of Institutional Relations to negotiate contracts with our partners. In addition this position will be responsible for maintaining, organizing and reporting on all current contracts, as well as updating and maintaining all contract templates on a yearly basis.

 

What you’ll do: 
  1. Serve as the primary contact for CIEE’s Institutional Relations team on all contract-related questions and inquiries. 
  2. Review contract edits, provide initial comments, and assign members of the Legal Committee for further review if needed. 
  3. Consult regularly with the Legal Committee regarding approval for legal and business-related updates to CIEE contract templates and decisions related to contract negotiations with university partners 
  4. Organize, track, store, and report on school-specific contract templates for university partners for reference, archiving, and future use 
  5. Track and monitor agreement expiration dates, stage new contracts across College Study Abroad and Custom Programs 
  6. Assist with special projects and other tasks as necessary to ensure the Operations Team runs as efficiently as possible. 
  7. Other duties as assigned 

What you’ll bring: 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certification or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a legal setting (law firm, corporate legal department, etc.) 
  3. Paralegal experience with drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and editing contracts/agreements 
  4. Knowledge of common legal terms and contractual provisions 
  5. Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) 
  6. Superior organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail 
  7. Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain collaborative partnerships 
  8. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills 
  9. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  10. Demonstrated ability to learn new processes quickly and take initiative
