Job Title: Paralegal
Type of Position: Full time
Hours: M-F 9-5 pm; flexible
Pay: $22/hr- $44/hr

Job Description:

  • Work with clients to obtain information, draft discovery responses with organized exhibits, submit to handling attorney at least 48 hours prior to deadline for review, implement attorney feedback
  • Bates stamp documents
  • Know when team needs to prepare and send supplemental discovery, prepare and serve supplemental and/or specialized discovery
  • Print and save faxes to appropriate folder on server
  • Provide lit concierge service/updates to clients and providers on status of case
  • Coordinate with other staff to make sure we have all medical records and bills before preparing discovery responses
  • Supplement & amend discovery responses once we obtain new medical bills or records
  • Follow up with clients regarding settlement release(s) and coordinate with counsel to finalize same
  • Draft requests for dismissal, coordinate deposit of settlement checks as received, request settlement checks, review settled cases, and send cases to liens
  • Run monthly team reports for team meeting
  • When subbed out, prepare and send file and lien to new attorney (after review by handling attorney)
  • Requests Ubers/set transportation for clients
  • Prepare discovery and mediation binders
  • Assist with deposition preparation by compiling necessary documentation for the handling attorney
  • Understand calendaring and fill in for other staff as necessary
  • As needed, prepare documents for filing with the Court
  • Order DMV records, background checks, and ISOs
  • Coordinate with outside investigators to obtain additional information, as needed and with instruction and supervision from attorneys
  • Access social media, the internet, and google maps, download and save for the file as needed
