Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Testing Lead with expertise in data warehouse testing, analytics validation, and federal reporting to support the Alabama Medicaid Agency as part of the MES Modernization Program. This role will operate under the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) framework and focus on the Data Warehouse and Reporting modules, ensuring testing quality, traceability, and compliance with CMS and federal reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with data validation, Power BI report testing, schema verification, and familiarity with the Optum Data Warehouse system. This individual will coordinate test activities across multiple modules and vendors, providing technical leadership and analytical rigor in support of Medicaid transformation efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead testing efforts for the Data Warehouse, Analytics, and Federal Reporting components of the AMMP project
• Develop test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases aligned with federal reporting and CMS guidelines
• Conduct end-to-end data validation across ETL pipelines, staging areas, and reporting outputs
• Perform schema testing to validate data structures and ensure consistency across data layers
• Test and validate Power BI dashboards and reports for accuracy, performance, and usability
• Work collaboratively with the Optum data warehouse team, state stakeholders, and other modular vendors to align testing priorities and resolve defects
• Document defects, track resolutions, and contribute to overall quality assurance planning and execution
• Participate in data mapping and analysis to support traceability between data sources and reporting requirements
• Provide weekly reporting to leadership on testing progress, issues, and quality metrics

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a focus on data warehouse and analytics testing
• Experience with Medicaid data and federal reporting requirements (e.g., T-MSIS, CMS dashboards)
• Proficient in writing SQL queries for data validation and analysis
• Hands-on experience with Power BI testing, including DAX validation and visual component testing
• Familiarity with schema testing, metadata validation, and data lineage analysis
• Experience working within a Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) or structured QA environment
• Strong documentation skills and experience working in multi-vendor, modular IT environments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills

Preferred:

• Experience with the Optum Medicaid Data Warehouse platform or similar large-scale Medicaid DW systems
• Experience supporting state Medicaid agencies in modernization or modular procurement initiatives
• Knowledge of CMS reporting guidelines and data quality standards (e.g., T-MSIS)
• Familiarity with data management, MDM, or data governance concepts
