Basic Function

This position is responsible for preparing the closing documents required for signature. This role supports our team on the east coast and requires work hours of 8am - 5pm Eastern.


Responsibilities
(Note: The following duties are typical of those performed by this role. Other related duties may also be performed. Incumbents may not necessarily perform all of the duties listed.)

  • Draft all required legal documents and disclosures associated with the settlement of residential mortgage loan transactions 
  • Compute and request funds required for residential mortgage loan settlement transactions 
  • Coordinate and communicate with all pertinent parties at each step of the transaction, including but not limited to the status of the preparation of documents and CD approval 
  • Audit the quality and accuracy of each loan package prior to sending to title company or attorney 
  • Approve the CD by working closely with the title company and requesting the necessary changes if applicable to ensure the loan meets guidelines and stays compliant.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested
Qualifications

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time in a fast paced environment.  Skilled at working with urgency and deadlines, handling confidential and time sensitive material with professionalism and integrity, ensure turnaround times meet requirements.  Ability to identify inconsistencies and problem solve with minimal direction.  Excellent customer service skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with customers and co-workers are required.  This position requires team player approach, patience, positive attitude, strong work ethic, analyzing skills, reading/proof reading skills, customer service, planning/organization, math aptitude.  Microsoft Office Skills required.

Education/Experience:

Degree in Business or a related field. (A combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed). 2+ years professional broad knowledge experience. Direct experience as a mortgage closer is required.  Bond loan experience preferred.  A strong candidate would also possess experience with Document Preparation and/or Attorneys office background. 

 

Language Ability:

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Reasoning Ability:

 

Ability to solve practical problems and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions are required.

 

Computer Skills:

Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and company information system applications required.  Experience working with CMS software and database and document management, preferred however not required.

This role supports our team on the west coast and requires work hours of 8am - 5pm Pacific. Must be able to pass a criminal history information background check.  Other duties may be applicable as business needs may dictate and as assigned by management. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

Compensation

Total Compensation Range between $65,000 and $85,300
