Job description

Lead Data Analyst
Location: Remote
Salary: $75–90k
Sabot Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Analyst to support large-scale behavioral health and Medicaid-related data initiatives. This role focuses on advanced data analysis, SQL optimization, and healthcare data systems to drive operational efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead data analysis projects involving collection, compilation, and interpretation of complex datasets.
  • Design and optimize SQL queries for relational databases.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Microsoft Power BI.
  • Conduct system/user acceptance testing and data validation processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Medicaid and behavioral health data initiatives.
  • Document methodologies, processes, and findings clearly and accurately.
  • Support compliance with state and federal data reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on data extraction and transformation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of data quality control frameworks.
Must Have:
  • 2 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related quantitative field (e.g., BI analyst, data engineer, researcher).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in technical research and data interpretation.
  • 2 years of experience writing and maintaining complex SQL queries.
  • 1 year of experience in system/user acceptance testing and data validation.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Medicaid or Medicare data systems.
  • Familiarity with California county-based behavioral health systems.
  • Experience working in managed care health plan environments.
  • Knowledge of X12 transactions.
  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, and/or ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Experience leading cross-functional data teams.
