This role is ideal for remote professionals with prior experience in U.S. bookkeeping standards and a passion for clear communication.
Role Overview
You’ll be responsible for managing daily bookkeeping tasks, keeping records accurate and organized, and supporting our finance team with reconciliations, invoicing, and payments. You’ll work closely with our Accounting Director and team members across the company to ensure smooth financial workflows.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 4 hours a day. Must overlap with U.S. Pacific or Central time for at least 2 hours per day

Key Responsibilities
Enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
Assist with royalty tracking and author/contractor payments
Generate and send invoices to vendors and partners
Process payments through Justworks
Maintain organized and up-to-date digital financial records
Support month-end and year-end close procedures
Communicate with internal team, authors, and vendors regarding payment details
Assist with basic financial reports using Excel/Google Sheets
Be open to using AI tools and workflows to enhance speed, accuracy, and efficiency in bookkeeping processes

We may explore tools like ChatGPT, Zapier, or AI add-ons for financial data review and efficiency
Ideal Candidate Will Have
1+ years of bookkeeping or accounting assistant experience
Strong familiarity with QuickBooks Online
Excellent English communication skills (written + spoken)
Ability to work independently and ask clarifying questions
Trustworthiness in handling confidential financial information
Solid skills with Google Sheets / Excel (formulas, filtering, sorting)
A forward-thinking, AI-friendly mindset—you're open to experimenting with new tools and making processes more efficient
Publishing or royalty reporting experience is a plus, not required
