The Director of Business Intelligence serves as a strategic leader in leveraging data and analytics to support institutional decision-making and drive continuous improvement. This role focuses on creating actionable insights through advanced reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools, while collaborating with stakeholders to align business intelligence initiatives with the University’s goals. The position requires a high level of expertise in interpreting complex data and presenting findings in a clear, impactful manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Insights and Decision Support:

- Design and deliver analytical tools, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights to leadership and other stakeholders.

- Support institutional decision-making by identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and conducting in-depth analyses.

- Develop strategies to assess and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for institutional effectiveness.

Analytics and Visualization:

- Create dynamic, user-friendly dashboards and data visualizations to enhance data accessibility and understanding.

- Perform advanced statistical analyses to identify patterns, opportunities, and risks across academic and administrative areas.

- Summarize data findings through compelling narratives that inform policy and strategic planning.

Collaboration and Support:

- Work closely with academic and administrative leaders to understand their analytical needs and provide tailored solutions.

- Act as a liaison between institutional stakeholders and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of analytics initiatives.

- Provide training and consultation to staff and faculty in the effective use of business intelligence tools and resources.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

- Lead efforts to enhance the University’s capabilities in business intelligence by exploring and implementing new tools and technologies.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements through the application of analytics.

- Stay abreast of trends and advancements in business intelligence and analytics to ensure the University remains competitive.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Five years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role.

- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

- Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and other data analysis tools.

- High-level expertise in presenting complex data in a clear, impactful manner to non-technical audiences.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related discipline.

- Experience in higher education analytics and reporting.

- Familiarity with institutional data reporting for compliance or accreditation.

- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling.
