Position Overview:

We are looking for a Documentation Platform Manager to take ownership of our documentation platform infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the successful migration of our existing, enterprise-scale documentation and knowledge base sites off Salesforce onto a new structured authoring platform. Post-migration, this person will own the platform’s day-to-day operations, roadmap, and performance but will not be responsible for creating or editing content.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring a mix of technical acumen, program management expertise, and strategic thinking. You will be the connective tissue between the business, product, support, marketing, and engineering teams when it comes to how the documentation site is structured, maintained, and scaled.

Why This Role Matters:

Our documentation and knowledge base are critical customer-facing tools. We already have a large, active set of documentation and KB content in place. This role is not about starting from scratch, but about migrating, modernizing, and managing the systems that power that experience. If you thrive on platform ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and driving operational clarity at scale, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the platform migration from Salesforce to a new documentation system, including migration planning, stakeholder coordination, and vendor management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between technical, content, and platform teams for all things documentation
  • Own and manage the documentation platform software from configuration and permissions to integration with other systems like Paligo and Salesforce
  • Serve as the primary owner of the documentation and knowledge base platform roadmap, including feature prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and release planning
  • Gather, evaluate, and prioritize new feature requests and platform enhancements based on business needs and user feedback
  • Coordinate with developers to implement technical updates and integrations, but you will not be expected to write code
  • Own the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the documentation site post-launch, including user management, bug tracking, and update scheduling
  • Develop and deliver reports on platform analytics, performance trends, and content engagement metrics
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline authoring workflows, but you will not be responsible for content creation, editing, or QA
  • Ensure the documentation platform continues to support scalability, localization, and enterprise content governance

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience owning enterprise-level documentation platforms or knowledge base systems
  • Experience managing or migrating structured authoring systems (Paligo experience highly preferred)
  • Strong program or project management background, with a track record of successfully leading complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Familiarity with how documentation and KB articles are created and managed at scale, including structured content workflows
  • Experience integrating documentation systems into broader marketing and product tech stacks (e.g., Salesforce, CMSs, analytics tools)
  • High-level technical literacy and ability to translate business requirements into platform configuration—but no engineering background required
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a bias toward action and ownership
  • Prior experience with platform migrations is a major plus
  • Familiarity with content analytics and using data to drive roadmap priorities
